Mahshid is a biotechnology scientist with over a decade of experience in cancer research, bioengineering, mentoring, and leadership for institutions. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Biotechnology from Lakehead University in Canada, focusing on the novel therapeutic anticancer drugs for MCF7 human breast cancer cells. Winning Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and Eric T Webster Foundation awards and grants on cancer cells and signalling pathways associated with tumour development and progression has led her to collaboratively work with scientists and researchers at Mayo Clinic, USA, where she initiated investigation on the apoptotic effect and gene expression of bioactive compound on cancer cells using biochemical techniques and analyzed selective cytotoxicity of the bioactive derived metabolite in MCF7 breast cancer and U2OS osteosarcoma cells and their link to the TP53/CDKN1A. She is so passionate about learning new technology and always enjoys collaborative endeavours with cross-disciplinary teams with a commitment to goals and accountability for success. During her free time, she likes reading books in philosophy and literature, singing Persian vocals, and she loves watching cosmos documentaries.
